What is a custom order?

A custom order is something made specifically for you, by your own design! This can be basically anything you'd like, whether you need a baby shower gift, a birthday gift, or simply something for yourself. I only accept customs for items that are not currently available to purchase on my website.


How can I place a custom order?

What should I include in my message?

When messaging me about a custom order, it's always a good rule-of-thumb to have a clear idea of what you would like! Inspiration pictures are always welcome. I'm happy to bounce ideas with you as we figure out color, sizing, and design.






How much does a custom order cost?

A custom order's cost depends on the amount of time and material needed to finish the order. Customs begin at a minimum of $25. All custom orders require a $25 non-refundable deposit that goes towards the overall cost of your order. Before placing your deposit, I will give you a quote of the overall cost that will be within a $10 range of the final cost, but I try to remain as close to the quote as possible. Orders do not have to be paid in full until completion.


How do I pay for a custom order?

All custom order transactions are processed securely on my website with your own unique listing. A $25 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your order spot that also goes towards the overall cost of your order. Your final payment(s) are also made on this website. I will send you the links to your listings as they are made.


How long do I have to pay for a custom order?


Custom orders need to be paid in full within two weeks of completion, unless a payment plan is discussed beforehand (see below). I understand that life can throw some curveballs, so if something comes up that might prevent you from paying on time, please reach out to me as soon as possible.


Do you offer payment plans?

I want to make sure my items are available to everyone, so I'm happy to help you out where I can! Payment plans are available while I'm working on your order (for orders under $100) and up-to four weeks after completion of your order (for orders $100+). Don't forget that your $25 deposit goes towards your overall cost, usually making the final payment(s) a little less daunting. Please note that finished orders are not delivered until they are paid in full.






Your website says that custom orders are "closed." What does that mean?

I only work on and accept a few custom orders at a time, depending on my schedule. If you see that my customs are currently "closed," that means I am not currently taking new custom orders. Please follow me on Instagram and Facebook for updates on when they will re-open.


When can I expect my custom order to arrive?

When you place your order, I will give you a timeframe of when I expect to have your order completed. Times can vary depending on my current orders/schedule and what you have in mind for your custom. If you have something in mind for a certain date, please do not wait to place you order! I do not currently offer expedited timeframes for custom orders.


I haven't received any updates about my custom order. What should I do?

I always try my best to update you on the progress of your order - I know just how exciting it can be to have something made just for you! I always send updates when I begin an order and finish an order, with pictures included. If you haven't received an update from me recently or would like to know the progress of your order, please message me.






Do you write your own patterns for custom orders?

As a rule, I generally try to find pre-written patterns for custom orders. This cuts down on my time as well as your cost! I always make sure to send you a variety of patterns to look at before beginning your order. If we can't find a pattern or you'd prefer an original pattern written by me, I am happy to do that for an additional cost. Depending on the complexity of the pattern, original pattern designs begin with a $15 (minimum) up-charge.






Do you offer repairs on your items?

I offer repairs and alterations on my products free-of-charge, with some exclusions. Please contact me for details.


Do you repair other items?

Yes! I am available to repair other handmade knitwear or store-bought knitwear. Please view my Custom Orders & Services Brochure for more information.
